Morris Esformes is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Finance and Entrepreneurship at The Wharton School. During his time at Penn, he has taken courses including Advanced Corporate Finance, Venture Capital & the Finance of Innovation, and Buyouts & Acquisitions, which have developed his interest in pursuing a career in Finance.
Additionally, due to his summer internship experiences at Greystone – a Real Estate investing and lending firm – and The Raine Group – a TMT merchant bank, Morris has cultivated passions for both Real Estate and the Media & Entertainment industry.
In his free time, Morris loves to exercise, try out new restaurants, go to the movies, and – being that he grew up in Miami – hang out at the beach. Morris is an impassioned Marvel nerd and die-hard Lakers fan.
Morris Esformes credits a few key classes to his passion and deep understanding of the Finance industry, including Advanced Corporate Finance, Venture Capital & the Finance of Innovation and The Finance of Buyouts & Acquisitions.
Advanced Corporate Finance focuses on decision-making within a corporate environment. Throughout this case-based course Morris analyzed many famed Harvard Business School cases to understand what goes into an M&A transaction. He learned significant financial modeling skills through working on case projects with other students.
Venture Capital & the Finance of Innovation focuses on valuation tools in the Venture Capital (VC) industry. Throughout this course Morris learned all things VC, from both the investor’s and entrepreneur’s perspective.
The Finance of Buyouts & Acquisitions focuses on the best practices and tools used in buyouts and acquisitions. Throughout this course Morris explored different buyers approaches, as well as learned the ins and outs of LBO modeling.
Morris Esformes is a Dean’s List recipient. He has been awarded the dean’s list during the 2017-2018 academic year, and is seeking to graduate with high honors.
As a student at the University of Pennsylvania, Morris is involved with various professional clubs and organizations to further his education beyond the classroom.
Morris is a member of the Wharton Undergraduate Private Equity & Venture Capital Club and attends weekly meetings aimed to promote discussions around current happenings within the private equity and venture capital space.
